Gametrailers.com – As the name suggests an excellent one stop site for viewing the latest game trailers. The site offers much more though. There is a weekly site run podcast, Invisible Walls, where current gaming news and topics of interest are discussed. This site also hosts popular video series such as The Angry Videogame Nerd in association with ScrewAttack.com and the often opinion dividing satirical series Hey Ash Whatcha Playin (HAWP) in association with Destructoid.com
GiantBomb – This is my particular favourite. Giantbomb is one of the sites which make up the WhiskeyMedia family, others include Tested.com (Technology), Screened.com (Movies) and ComicVine.com (comics). Giantbomb hosts and runs an extensive gaming wiki database edited and moderated by users. If you want to find in depth information on a particular game this is the place to go. Also on offer at Giantbomb is the extremely popular weekly podcast, the GiantBombCast and weekly live stream show for paid members. Giantbomb goes further than just offering game trailers. They produce their own custom video content such as QuickLooks, Reviews and popular series such as This Aint No Game (TANG) and the very popular Edurance Run. GiantBomb offers what no other gaming website does through their editorial staff Jeff Gertsmann, Ryan Davis, Brad Shoemaker and Vinny Caravella offering a more personal experience with lots of community involvement and shenanigans. Thurday Night Throwdown (TNT) is run weekly and streamed live giving the users opportunity to game with the staff and the GiantBomb community.
MajorNelson.com This is the blog of Xbox Live’s Major Nelson (Larry Hryb). Major Nelson regularly posts updates on Xbox360 and Xbox Live News and events. New releases on the marketplace and information on special offers are updated weekly. MajorNelson.com also hosts a weekly (mostly) podcast which covers a variety of topics, not just relating to Microsoft and Xbox. Informative interviews with game developers are provided.
